WHAT IS PILATES?

Pilates is an exercise discipline developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century. It emphasizes balance, concentration, core strength, precise movements, and alignment.


Pilates provides a unique physical experience. By using abstracted exercises inspired by daily motions, Pilates focuses on core strength and balance to increase mobility, stability and, most importantly, confidence. Utilizing the structure of machines like the Reformer, Cadillac and Ladder Barrel, exercises for all ages and fitness levels are possible! The mind and the body are challenged in the studio, as Ananda Body, LLC strives to bring balance, harmony and bliss to both.

One of the easiest ways to bring balance to the body and mind is to utilize the power of breath. Breathing is crucial to our survival, but also to so many of our communication skills, both with each other and within ourselves. Pilates exercises often emphasize the importance of breath to create the rhythm or flow for movement. By empowering breath during the exercise, the brain and body become empowered to work together for a more balanced experience of motion. 



In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference, and in 30 you'll have a whole new body.
